This National Stroke Awareness Month, the South Texas Health System Neurosciences and Stroke Institute presents Steps for Stroke, a community competition aimed at raising awareness of the warning signs of stroke and educating the community on ways to reduce your risk of having one.

During this virtual week-long challenge, participants will commit to walk, run or even dance their way to a minimum of 10,000 steps per day and 50,000 steps total within the specified time frame (May 21-27). You’ll be able to log your steps on our official challenge website. And you’re invited to kick off the challenge on Saturday, May 21 at the official Steps for Stroke Pep Rally.

Along with picking up your packet, you’ll get the chance to start upping your step count with fun aerobic activities throughout the day!

Get out there and get your steps for stroke in! Share your stories and challenge photos/videos with us on social media by using the hashtag #STHSStepsForStroke.

Challenge Period: May 21 - May 27, 2022
